Dr. Irene Lambrinoudaki
was born in Athens and graduated from Athens University Medical School. She conducted her Medical Thesis in the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg, Germany on the Epidemiology of osteoporosis in association with endogenous sex hormones. She was trained in Clinical Endocrinology in the Department of Pathophysiology, Athens University Medical School and in the Departments of Endocrinology and Metabolism, in Ruprecht Karls University, Heidelberg, Germany, in Nikaia General District Hospital, Piraeus, Greece and in Queen Mary Hospital, University of Hong Kong. Currently she is Associate Professor of Gynecological Endocrinology in the 2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Athens, Greece. She has been responsible for educational, clinical and research activities in the Menopause Clinic of the Department since 2000. Up to date she has authored more than 150 publications in peer-reviewed international journals, mainly on gynecological endocrinology, menopause, hormone therapy and osteoporosis. She is President of the Hellenic Society of Climacterium and Menopause, President of the European Menopause and Andropause Society (EMAS) and Editorial Board Member of the journal MATURITAS.
