Dr María del Mar Gil
qualified in Medicine and specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Madrid, Spain. From 2012 to 2015 she was a Research Fellow at Harris Birthright Research Centre for Fetal Medicine, King’s College Hospital, London. She got her PhD in Medicine by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, with her work “Clinical Implementation of maternal blood cell-free DNA testing in first-trimester screening for aneuploidies”.
Currently, she is a Consultant in Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics in Hospital Universitario de Torrejón, and Associated Profesor at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, both in Madrid. From 2012 to date she’s published, together with Professor Kypros Nicolaides, a series of meta-analysis, clinical validation and implementation studies on cell free DNA analysis of maternal blood for early screening of aneuploidies both in singleton and twin pregnancies.
