Mats Hellström (MSc, PhD)
completed a PhD and a postdoc in Regenerative Neuroscience between 2006-2011 at the University of Western Australia where he investigated various combinations of gene therapy, tissue transplantation and pharmacological agents to repair injured central nerve circuits in the rat model. Since 2012, Dr. Hellström worked in Professor Brännström’s group at Sahlgrenska University Hospital at Gothenburg University, Sweden. He is now an Assistant professor and works as Professor Brännström’s pre-clinical lab manager. Their research focus is on uterus transplantation and on various bioengineered grafting materials as potential novel therapeutics to treat female infertility.
