Dr. Bruce Shapiro is the Medical and Laboratory Director of The Fertility Center of Las Vegas and a clinical professor at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He completed residency at Yale University School of Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, followed by a Fellowship in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology, also at Yale. Dr. Shapiro was among the first physicians in the United States to adopt routine blastocyst transfer as the standard of care in 1997 and to report its efficacy. He’s been the principal investigator for many randomized trials, including three investigator-initiated randomized trials assessing the efficacy of frozen-thawed embryo transfer. He has authored one book, several book chapters, and >100 research publications focused on making reproductive medicine safer and more successful. His other interests include meteorology and cosmology.
