graduated in 1999 at the University of Leuven, Belgium and finished his residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2004. He further subspecialized in uro-gynaecology and gynaecologic oncology. He got awarded with the Pfizer educational grant in 2007. In 2011 he defended his PhD thesis titled: Can prevention of mesothelial damage during endoscopic surgery decrease adhesion formation and tumorimplantation?” He became a professor at the University Hospital Leuven in 2012. In 2013 he transferred to the Jessa Hospital, Hasselt, Belgium where he performs mainly benign laparoscopic surgery (i.e. uro-gyn, myoma’s and endometriosis). He kept on performing robotic myoma surgery at the University Hospital Leuven the years after. He founded and is leading the endometriosis centre in Hasselt, where he is currently holding the position of Clinical Head of Benign Gynaecology.
