-Larry Hinkson “In 2011, I was appointed as a full time Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Charité University Hospital Department in Berlin and as of 2017 I have been the leading Consultant in Obstetrics and the deputy director of the Charité Obstetrics Department in Campus Mitte.
The Charité is one of the largest Obstetric Units in Europe with over 5000 deliveries yearly. The Charité Obstetric Department has been consistently voted the best Obstetric unit in Germany for the last 6 years under the directorship of Professor Wolfgang Henrich.
With my background training in Obstetric Leadership, I play a central role in the running and leadership of the unit, which is a referral centre for high-risk pregnancies, not only for Berlin but surrounding regions and international referrals as well. It is a level one tertiary referral centre with advanced neonatal services. I supervise specialized, dedicated, interdisciplinary clinics for high risk pregnancy and medical disorders in pregnancy. I have a special interest in ultrasound in pregnancy especially in labour and operative delivery. I am also interested in the development of clinical pathway systems for the management of breech presentation and high-fidelity simulation training in obstetric emergencies.
The Charité University Department is the largest training facility for medical students in Berlin and is a centre of excellence for postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. ”
