Professor Michelle NISOLLE
Professor Michelle NISOLLE is President of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the University of Liege (ULiege) and Head of University GYN/OBST Department at CHU Liege (site CHR Liege) in Belgium. Her clinical activity is focused on endoscopic management of benign pathology (especially endometriosis), Mullerian malformations and fibroids.
She is particularly involved in endoscopic surgery teaching in the complementary Gynecology-Obstetrics Master.
She recently created a university endometriosis care center, called LUCERM (Liège Universitary Center of Endometriosis Reproductive Medicine), to provide comprehensive and multidisciplinary patient care.
She is member of many international societies as ESGE and ESHRE. She is currently vice-president of the European Society of Gynecology. From 2017, she is a Belgian associated member at the “Académie royale de Médecine de Belgique”. Since 2020, she is also member of the scientific commission “Sciences de la Vie et de la Santé – 4 (SVS-4)” of FNRS.
Professor Nisolle participates in many international congresses as a speaker.
She is editorial board member in Fertility and Sterility. Since 2018, she is also Editor-in-Chief of “European Gynecology and Obstetrics”, the official journal of ESG.
Her research is primarily focused on endometriosis and in particular on its physiopathogenesis, as well as on adenomyosis. The second theme of her research concerns the ovarian cryopreservation. She is author and co-author of more than 143 book chapters and 287 publications in national and international journals.
