Professor Olivier Donnez, M.D. Ph.D. received his medical degree in 2000 and his PhD in 2013 from the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL). He is actually Co-founder and Co-CEO of the Institut du sein et de Chirurgie gynécologique d’Avignon (I.C.A.) since 2016. He is gynaecological and oncological surgeon in polyclinic Urbain V in Avignon, France from 2015. He was the head of department of gynaecology and in vitro fertilization, CHU Dinant Godinne UCL Namur in Belgium from 2005 until 2015. He is involved in research projects in the “Institut de Recherche Expérimentale et Clinique”, GYNE pole, of the UCL.
Olivier Donnez is member of the European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE), European society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO), American association of gynaecologic laparoscopist (AAGL), International society of fertility preservation (ISFP)
He is member of the advisory board of the Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE). He is reviewer for the European Journal of Obstertrics and Gynecology, Plos One, The Journal of Minimally invasive Gynecology and Gynecological surgery. He is a member of the editorial board of Fertility and Sterility.
His daily practice is mainly devoted on the laparoscopic surgical management of benign and oncologic gynaecological pathology and reproductive medicine. His research interests deep nodular endometriosis, uterine fibroids, isthmocele and deep neuromuscular blockade.
He has authored or co-authored more than 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has delivered more than 120 presentations at international congresses on gynaecological endoscopy and anaesthesiology.
