Régine Sitruk-Ware, M.D
, is a Reproductive Endocrinologist, and a distinguished scientist at the Population Council’s Center for Biomedical Research (CBR). In her previous role of Executive Director of research and development in reproductive biology she conducted translational research for new product candidates and new technologies for men and women with a particular focus on contraceptive molecules that also contribute additional medical benefits.
Before joining the Council, R.Sitruk-Ware taught and conducted clinical research in reproductive endocrinology at the University of Paris for more than ten years. She then had a career in research and development in industry. She is a founding member of the International Menopause Society and was its General Secretary from 2008 to 2011. She was also the program director and principal investigator of the Contraception Research Center from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) from 2001 to 2017. She has written eight books and over 300 articles, addressing men and women’s health care issues. She received her medical doctorate at the University of Paris in France and an Adjunct Professor at Rockefeller University since 2000. She has been named in Time magazine as one of 50 most influential people in Health Care in 2018.
