Dr. Amir Aviram is a graduate of the Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel-Aviv University, Tel-Aviv, Israel. He completed his post-graduate training in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology at the Helen Schneider Hospital for Women, Rabin Medical Center at the Lis Maternity and Women’s Hospital, The Tel-Aviv Sourasky Medical Centre, Israel. He completed his Maternal-Fetal Medicine sub-specialty training in 2020 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Mount Sinai Hospital, University of Toronto, Toronto, ON. Today, Dr. Aviram is the head of the placental disorders clinic at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto, ON, and hold an academic rank of an Associated Professor at the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, Toronto, ON. He has authored and co-authored more than 125 manuscripts in the peer reviewed journals, as well as numerous reviews and book chapters, and he also serves as the Trustworthy Editor for the AJOG MFM journal.

Anne Goriely
After an undergraduate degree in Engineering (Agronomy) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), Anne Goriely obtained a PhD studying the development of the nervous system of the Drosophila embryo. She spent 4 years in New York at Cornell Medical School and Rockefeller University, before moving to the UK to work on the nervous system development of the chick embryo. In 2000 she joined the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (University of Oxford) to study the origin of rare human developmental disorders associated with paternal age effects.
She is currently Professor of Human Genetics based at the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine in Oxford. Using a human genetics approach, her group’s main interests lie in elucidating the mechanisms by which we acquire new germline mutations and the implications of such processes in health and disease.

Alessandra Graziottin, MD
Alessandra Graziottin is specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and in Oncology and a certified Therapist in Sexual Medicine.
She is Director of the Centre of Gynaecology and Medical Sexology at the H. San Raffaele Resnati in Milano, Italy.
She is Founder and Chair of the Alessandra Graziottin Foundation for the cure and care of pain in women NPO (since 2008).
She is currently:
– professor on contract at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of University of Verona;
– faculty member at the International School of Surgical Anatomy (ISSA) in Negrar di Valpolicella (Verona);
– lecturer on “Gynecological endocrinology, menopause and female sexuality” at the Specialty School of Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases of the University Federico II of Napoli.
In September 2022 she chaired the Atelier 15 on “Endometriosis and comorbid pain: impact on women’s and couple’s sexuality” at the Endometriosis Consensus Strasbourg 2022.
Since 2019 she has been collaborator for the Higher Education in the Medical Area and professor at the First Level University Master in Clinical Sexology at Milan Bicocca University. Since 2017 she has been member of the Core Faculty of the European School of Oncology (ESO) and, since 2011, member of the International Organizing Committee (IOC) of Controversies in Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility (COGI).
In June 2004 she has been awarded the Honorary Membership by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) and, in 2018, the “National Health Prize” for Medicine in Italy.
Professor Graziottin has published 27 scientific books and proceedings, over then 90 chapters of scientific books and more than 130 peer-reviewed papers. She has given more than 1800 lectures (including 110 state of the art lectures) at international and national meetings and CME courses.
In the course of her activity she has been president or member of the board of 21 scientific societies.
Passionate about health and quality of life of women and couples in the clinical, didactic and educational fields, she is frequently guest of web, television and radio on the topics of gynecology, chronic pain and sexual medicine. She is currently regular columnist of the monthly magazine “Benessere”, the weekly “Oggi”, and the newspapers “Il Gazzettino” and “Il Mattino”. -
Asma Khalil is a Professor of Obstetrics and Maternal Fetal Medicine at St George’s Hospital, University of London. She is the Obstetric Lead of the National Maternity and Perinatal Audit (NMPA). She gained her MD(Res) at the University of London in 2008. She also has a Masters degree in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and an MRC scholarship. She is a subspecialist in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. Since 2008, she has maintained busy clinical (Obstetrics, Fetomaternal Medicine), research and teaching roles. Asma is the Lead for the Twin and Multiple Pregnancy service at St George’s Hospital. She also leads the Reproductive Health Research Group at St George’s Hospital.She has published more than 350 peer reviewed papers, and many published review articles and chapters. She was awarded many research prizes, both at national and international meetings. Her research interests include twin pregnancy, fetal growth restriction, hypertensive disorders in pregnancy and infections in pregnancy.She is passionate about innovation. She is the inventor of the HAMPTON, which is an award-winning digital innovation which enables pregnant women to monitor their blood pressure safely at home. She is a National Innovation Accelerator (NIA) Fellow.She is committed to the implementation of clinical guidelines in practice and believes that they could reduce inequalities in care across the NHS. She had a three year Fellowship with NICE and has been a member of the NICE Clinical Standards and Expert Advisor to the NICE Centre for Clinical guidelines.She is an Editor for the Ultrasound on obstetrics and Gynecology Journal. She is an International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) Trustee and is an Ambassador to North Africa and the Middle East. She works closely with the Twins trust Charity and together has set up the world-first Twins Trust Centre for Research and Clinical Excellence at St George’s Hospital.

Professor Anja Pinborg is an MD, specialist in obstetrics/gynecology and expert in clinical reproductive medicine and was appointed professor at University of Copenhagen in 2013. Since 2018 she has been professor and medical director at the Fertility Department at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen University Hospital. She has published more than 250 original papers and authored nine book-chapters and has an H-index of 62. She is past member of ESHRE EXCO (2017-2021) and of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (2015-2021) and former president for Nordic Fertility Society (2011-2015). She is the former AE of Human Reproduction Update and RBMOnline. Her main research focus areas are quality and safety in ART including maternal and child health. -
Astrid Stecher graduated in Biology with a focus on Molecular Genetics and Microbiology from the Karl-Franzens-University of Graz (Austria) in 1993.
She joined the field of embryology in the team of Prof. H. Zech in 1995 and was involved in setting up several IVF laboratories in the Zech Group. She is currently Head of IVF laboratory at NextFertility IVF Prof. Zech Bregenz.
Her main areas of interest are optimization of In vitro culture conditions, early events of oocyte activation, assessment of embryo morphology and development, non-invasive selection methods and quality management in the IVF laboratory. -

Dr. Andrea Tinelli completed his medical degree magna “cum laude” in 1996, at School of Medicine “Federico II” of Naples, Italy, and specialized in Obstetrics & Gynecology “cum laude” in 2000 at University of Trieste, Italy. Andrea Tura is a Senior Research Scientist at the Institute of Neuroscience of the Italian National Research Council. His main scientific interests are in the area of mathematical models and methods for quantitative physiology especially in the field of diabetes, in the area of analysis of sequences of data, with special interest to Continuous Glucose Monitoring data (CGM) for the estimation of glycemic control and glycemic variability, in glucose monitoring through non-invasive techniques, and in telemedicine for home monitoring of subjects requiring continuous health care, based on the use of portable and wearable medical instruments.
He is author of more than 200 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, of which more than 60 with primary role (first or last author). Current H-index (Google Scholar) is 49 (last checked: June 2023). -
Prof. Dr. Arne Vanhie is a gynecologist at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University Hospital Leuven, Belgium, with a special interest in endometriosis and infertility. He obtained his medical degree at Leuven University, Belgium. During his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology he worked at the University Hospital Leuven and University Hospital of Wales, in Cardiff. He holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences with a thesis on microRNA as biomarkers for endometriosis. As part of his PhD he worked on a two year project in the baboon model for endometriosis at the Institute of Primate Research in Nairobi, Kenya. After a research fellowship at the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Yale University, USA he started working in the Leuven University Fertility Center. The greater part of his clinical practice are couples who need pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT-M) and women with endometriosis-related pain or infertility. Along with his clinical work Prof. Dr. Arne Vanhie is researcher at Leuven University in the Laboratory of Endometrium, Endometriosis and Reproductive Medicine (LEERM). His research is focused on reproductive genetics and non-invasive diagnosis of endometriosis. Prof Vanhie is senior deputy in the Special Interest Group for Endometriosis & Endometrial Disorders (SIGEED) of the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).

Andrea Weghofer, MD PhD MSc MBA works as a senior consultant at the Department of Gynecological Endocrinology & Reproductive Medicine at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria and serves as the head of the department’s outpatient unit for fertility treatment.
Dr. Weghofer was born and raised in Vienna and graduated from the Medical University of Vienna. She obtained her PhD as the first graduate of the University’s Reproductive Endocrinology program. Dr. Weghofer completed her residency training at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Medical University in Vienna and her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Genetics at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. She is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology (including reproductive endocrinology & infertility) and in Human Genetics. In the course of international research collaborations Dr. Weghofer concentrates her research efforts on in vitro fertilization, ovarian senescence and reproductive genetics. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and has won a number of national and international awards for her scientific work. Currently Dr. Weghofer serves as section editor for Reproductive Biomedicine Online and was appointed Vice president of Austria’s Society of Reproductive Medicine.

Pierluigi Benedetti Panici, Italy
Prof. Pierluigi Benedetti Panici is the Director of University Department of Gynecological and Obstetrics Sciences and Urological Sciences Umberto I Hospital, University “Sapienza” of Rome since October 2016 onward.
After the medical degree ‘cum laude’ at University “Sapienza” of Rome in 1975, he was medical assistant at the Department of Gynecologic Oncology of National Cancer Institute (Milan) and at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Catholic University (Rome). He was also Honorary Assistant at Breast Unit Cancer Research Found Guy’s Hospital of London in 1983 and Assistant Professor and Head of the Gynecology Oncology Section from 1986 to 1991 at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Catholic University (Rome).
He has a great experience in Gynecologic-Oncologic Surgery and paid particular attention to this research field along time.
He is primary operator of more than 9000 major gynaecological oncology surgical procedures for gynaecological cancer (cervix, endometrium, ovary, vulva, vagina) and of more than 12.000 major gynaecological surgery procedures for benign disease, including major operative laparoscopies, pelvic floor reconstructive surgery, operative hysteroscopies.
Finally, he is author of more than 500 international publications with a H-index Scopus score of 60.

Dr. Howard Berger completed medical School and Obstetric and Gynecology residency in Israel. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Mt Sinai Hospital, Toronto.
Since 2006 Dr. Berger leads the division of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Obstetric Ultrasound at St. Michael’s hospital, Toronto and is also the director of the Advanced High Risk Obstetric Fellowship Program.
He is a full Professor in the University Of Toronto Department Of Obstetrics and Gynecology and an Adjunct staff at the Li Ka Shing Research Institute.
He has published over 140 peer reviewed publications, authored practice guidelines and generated research funding in excess of 23 million CAD as PI, Co-PI and collaborator. Research interests include, Diabetes in Pregnancy, Prenatal ultrasound, Pregnancy complications and obesity/adiposity. -
Julia Binder is the Head of Fetal Medicine at the Department of Obstetrics and fetomaternal Medicine as well as the Head of the Preeclampsia Research Group at the Medical University of Vienna. She graduated at the Medical University of Vienna in 2010 and started her training at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical University of Vienna. Alongside her training she finished her PhD in Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Medical University of Vienna. Furthermore, Julia completed a one-year fellowship in Fetal Medicine at the Fetal Medicine Unit at St George’s Hospital, University of London in 2017 as well as a three year Fellowship in fetomaternal Medicine at the Medical University of Vienna, accredited by the EBCOG, in 2020. In May 2021 Julia habilitated with the topic ‘Angiogenic markers and maternal hemodynamic function in women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy’, achieving the title ‘Privatdozentin‘ with the license to teach at the Medical University of Vienna.
In 2023 she became Ap. Professor at the Medical University of Vienna.
Her main fields of research and interest include hypertensive disorders of pregnancy with a special focus on maternal cardiovascular system, fetal growth restriction, fetal neurosonography and fetal echocardiography.
Julia has received a grant from the ERA- CVD network for early carrier scientists, for her collaborative project- Maternal hemodynamics in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy- a human and animal model under antihypertensive therapy- HyperDiP on which she is currently working on. -

Professor Brincat served as Chairman and Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Department of Health on the Maltese Islands from 1991-2018.He is currently Professor at the University of Malta Medical School (O&G) and Hon. Clinical Professor at Queen Mary University London (QMUL), from Nov ’17 to present (Medical Education). He is also an Associate Dean at QMUL, Bart’s Medical School (Malta).Professor Brincat has held several posts and has served on several committees including ISGE, EMAS, IMS and ESHRE. His academic work was mostly in Gynaecological Endocrinology. He has had a special interest in Menopause and his PhD (King’s College, University of London) concerned work on the relationship of the Menopause and HRT on connective tissue, particularly on the skin and bone.He has presented keynote lectures and published extensively on the subject of the menopause in a broad range of subjects. He also founded the first Maltese ART (IVF) Unit and has also had a long-standing interest in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.Prof Brincat continues to lecture both undergraduates and postgraduates and is still actively involved in Menopause and Infertility, recently also picking up an interest in the application of gynaecological laser techniques. -
Frank Broekmans (1956), MD, PhD, is a gynaecologist and Professor in Reproductive Endocrinology and Surgery at the University Medical Center Utrecht. Recently, he has started to combine his academic career with clinical work in the Centre for Reproductive Medicine at the Dijklander Ziekenhuis in Purmerend. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the VU Medical Center Amsterdam in 1983, became consultant OBGYN in 1990, completed a Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at the VU Medical Center Amsterdam in 1993, and received his PhD degree in 1995. In October 2010 he was appointed Professor at the University Medical Center in UtrechtHis scientific career has long been devoted to the field of female reproductive ageing. Special focus has been on the normal ovarian ageing pattern, assessment of actual and future fertility status, genetic backgrounds of the variation in the ovarian ageing process, and the link between vascular and ovarian ageing. At present, he is supervising 3 PhD students.
Recent focus has moved towards the role of the endometrium in reproductive success. The banking of endometrium tissue from several patient groups has allowed to develop a research line where endometrium organoids are utilised to unravel many functional aspects that could lead to understanding and prevention of several reproductive failure conditions.

Prof. Jan Brosens graduated from the Catholic University Leuven, Belgium in 1990 and pursued postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the United Kingdom. He became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1995 and a Fellow of the College in 2008. He obtained a Ph.D. from the University of London in 1999 and was awarded a Wellcome Trust Clinical Scientist Fellowship. He joint Imperial College London, first as Chair of Reproductive Sciences (2004) and then Chair of Reproductive Medicine (2008). In May 2011, he was appointed as Chair of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Warwick. Mariano G Buffone Ph.D. earned his Bachelors and master’s degree in Biochemistry from University of Buenos Aires, Argentina where he also obtained his PhD. He then moved to the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, USA) as a postdoctoral fellow under the direction of professors George L. Gerton and Richard M. Schultz.
In 2010, Dr Buffone moved to Buenos Aires and became Assistant Professor at the Instituto de Biologia y Medicina Experimental in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he leads his research team
Since 2015, he assumed his present position as Professor at the same institution. He was recently appointed as Vice Director of the Institute.
His laboratory seeks to understand the complex process of mammalian sperm capacitation with particular emphasis in the process of acrosomal exocytosis. Shai Carmi is an associate professor at the Hebrew University School of Public Health. His training is in statistical physics and population genetics, and his current research focuses on statistical methods in genetics. Specific areas of study include theoretical population genetics, ancient DNA, genetic genealogy, genome-wide association studies, polygenic risk scores, pre-conception genetic testing, and pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT). His work on PGT includes the development of embryo genotyping methods and the evaluation of PGT for polygenic (complex) diseases and traits.

Dr Cesar Diaz-Garcia completed his Bachelor’s degree in Medicine at the Autonomous University of Madrid and Pitié-Salpêtrière University in Paris. He specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at La Fe University Hospital of Valencia (University of Valencia), where he was awarded with the Best Resident Award in 2009. He obtained the European PhD at the University of Gothenburg and the University of Valencia under the supervision of Prof Mats Brannstrom.
His scientific career has been devoted to the field of fertility preservation, with special interest on ovarian cortex transplantation, uterus transplantation, follicular activation and poor response in IVF. Dr Diaz-Garcia was part of the first team achieving a live birth after uterus transplantation in humans and was the lead of the Valencian Program for Fertility Preservation, one of the largest fertility preservation programs worldwide.
His academic career goes back to 2011 as an Associate Professor at the Department of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Valencia and from 2020 at the EGA Institute of Women’s Health at University College London.

He is full Professor at the Dept of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the I.M. Sechenov First State University of Moscow since 2019. Prof. Marie-Madeleine Dolmans earned her medical degree from the Université Catholique de Louvain in Brussels in 2000, and her PhD degree on “Cryopreservation and transplantation of human ovarian tissue” in 2006. She is gynecologist and divides her time equally between clinical and research activities. She succeeded Prof. Donnez as Head of the Gynecology Research Unit at the Université Catholique de Louvain in 2012. He studied at the Catholic University of Louvain.

He also founded the Infertility Research Unit of the Catholic University of Louvain in 1986.

Prof. Donnez was the first President of the recently created International Society for Fertility

Hanna Dusza is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Population Health Sciences, IRAS, Division of Toxicology at Utrecht University. She received her MSc degree in Environmental Biology from the University of Gdansk, Poland, and a second MSc degree in Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology from VU University, Amsterdam. In 2022, she earned her PhD in Toxicology from Utrecht University. Her doctoral research focused on early life health and the characterization of in utero exposures to environmental pollutants. She developed a novel approach for the analysis of endocrine-disrupting compounds in human amniotic fluid and worked on in vitro placental models to study complex in utero toxicokinetics and toxicity of micro- and nanoplastics (MNPs). She now continues efforts to advance our understanding of toxicological and health effects of environmental pollutants on pregnancy and early life, within the AURORA (EU’s Horizon 2020) and MOMENTUM (ZonMW, the Netherlands) projects.

Priv.-Doz. Dana A. Muin, MD MMSc MRes, is a Consultant subspecialist in feto-maternal and perinatal medicine at the University Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Comprehensive Centre for Paediatrics in Vienna, Austria.
Following medical graduation from Vienna, she completed a 2-year foundation training within the East of England Deanery and obtained her specialist training in the UK, Switzerland and Austria. Beside her medical degree, Dr Muin received a Master of Science in Gender Medicine, a Master of Science in Medical Genetics and a Master of Research in Pregnancy and Reproduction.
Dr Muin’s research focuses on intrauterine fetal death and placental dysfunction leading to intrauterine growth restriction and eventually stillbirth. In 2018, she worked one year at the Tommy’s Stillbirth Research Centre in Manchester, UK. Currently, she is the head of the Stillbirth Research Group “Austrian Stillbirth Alliance” at the Medical University of Vienna, collaborating with national and international researchers on epidemiological data and conducting laboratory investigations in the field of placental dysfunction. Her goal is to contribute to early detection of fetal compromise and establish prevention strategies to help reduce antepartum stillbirth worldwide.-

Dr. Elisa Maseroli received the MD degree and the Postgraduate Diploma in Endocrinology and Metabolism Diseases at the University of Florence, School of Human Health Sciences, Italy, in 2016, and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences at the Department of Experimental and Clinical Biomedical Sciences “Mario Serio” in the same University, in 2020. Recently, he has started to combine his academic career with clinical work in the Centre for Reproductive Medicine at the Dijklander Ziekenhuis in Purmerend. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the VU Medical Center Amsterdam in 1983, became consultant OBGYN in 1990, completed a Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at the VU Medical Center Amsterdam in 1993, and received his PhD degree in 1995. In October 2010 he was appointed Professor at the University Medical Center in UtrechtHis scientific career has long been devoted to the field of female reproductive ageing. Special focus has been on the normal ovarian ageing pattern, assessment of actual and future fertility status, genetic backgrounds of the variation in the ovarian ageing process, and the link between vascular and ovarian ageing. At present, he is supervising 3 PhD students.
Recent focus has moved towards the role of the endometrium in reproductive success. The banking of endometrium tissue from several patient groups has allowed to develop a research line where endometrium organoids are utilised to unravel many functional aspects that could lead to understanding and prevention of several reproductive failure conditions.
Within these fields of scientific interest he obtained several grants from the Dutch Organisation for Scientific Research (ZonMW) and the Dutch College for Health Care Insurance.He has held an Associate Editorship for Human Reproduction between 2005 and 2009, he is the former chairman of the Dutch Flemish Society for Studies on Fertility, he participates in several Advisory boards, is reviewer for Gynaecological Obstetrical Investigation, Fertility Sterility, Human Reproduction, and Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, he was a member of the Institutional Review Board UMC Utrecht between 2012 and 2014, he was chairman of the department Board on Ethical issues in Reproductive Medicine between 2012 and 2015, he was the coordinator of the Board of the Special Interest Group Reproductive Endocrinology of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology between 2015-2017, he was chairman of the pillar Reproductive Medicine of the Dutch Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology between 2015-2018 and has published over 302 peer-reviewed scientific papers, contributed 38 book chapters and presented over 161 invited lectures at international meetings.

Paul A. Fowler
Following his BSc Hons and PhD in Zoology, Professor Fowler worked on ovarian hormones in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, University of Aberdeen. In 2000, he moved to the University of Aberdeen’s Institute of Medical Sciences and was its director for 6 years (2015-21). His work elucidates mechanisms regulating/dysregulating reproduction and development. He has over 170 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and co-authored numerous European Food Standards Agency opinions. Since 2000, his research focused principally on effects of environmental/lifestyle exposures, including maternal smoking, obesity, and medication use. This aims to understand disruption of fetal development and health, principally using normal first and second trimester human fetus. Since 2009 he has led/participated in 4 large EU research programmes studying endocrine disruption and received MRC, BBSRC, Wellcome Trust, charities and PARC (Partnership of the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals, 2022-2029) funding. In 2023 he was awarded the Anne McLaren Distinguished Scientist award by the Society for Reproduction & Fertility. -
Professor Thomas Freour, PharmD, PhD, is a clinical embryologist, head of the infertility department of the University Hospital of Nantes, France. He is also director of research and innovation of the IVF lab of the clinica Dexeus in Barcelona, Spain. My other area of interest has been biomedical ethics. My work in this realm led to many invitations to debate the moral issues created by the use of the techniques of artificial procreation. I have had an active participation in the preparation on the law on bioethics.

Florian Kiefer MD, PhD is Associate Professor of Medicine and Head of the Endocrine Outpatient Clinic at the Division of Endocrinolgy & Metabolism at the Medical University of Vienna. He is the Vice-President of the Austrian Obesity Association and an active board member of the Austrian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism. Dr Kiefer is also a research group leader of multiple peer-reviewed projects and has published extensively in the field of energy metabolism, obesity and brown fat physiology. Dr Cesar Diaz-Garcia completed his Bachelor’s degree in Medicine at the Autonomous University of Madrid and Pitié-Salpêtrière University in Paris. He specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at La Fe University Hospital of Valencia (University of Valencia), where he was awarded with the Best Resident Award in 2009. He obtained the European PhD at the University of Gothenburg and the University of Valencia under the supervision of Prof Mats Brannstrom.
His scientific career has been devoted to the field of fertility preservation, with special interest on ovarian cortex transplantation, uterus transplantation, follicular activation and poor response in IVF. Dr Diaz-Garcia was part of the first team achieving a live birth after uterus transplantation in humans and was the lead of the Valencian Program for Fertility Preservation, one of the largest fertility preservation programs worldwide.
His academic career goes back to 2011 as an Associate Professor at the Department of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Valencia and from 2020 at the EGA Institute of Women’s Health at University College London.

Prof. Di Renzo is Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Perugia in Italy. He is Director of both the Reproductive and Perinatal Medicine Center in Perugia and founder of the Permanent International and European School of Perinatal and Reproductive Medicine (PREIS) in Florence. He is full Professor at the Dept of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the I.M. Sechenov First State University of Moscow since 2019. He is coordinating the Women’s Library ( GLOWM ) of FIGO after being General Secretary for two terms (2012-2018) . He holds multiple other positions including Founder & Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Maternal Fetal and Neonatal Medicine, based in London, corresponding Editor of the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Editor in Chief of the Chinese Journal (in English language) “Maternal Fetal-Medicine”. Dr. Norbert Gleicher, MD, FACOG, FACS, is the Chief Scientist and Medical Director at the Center for Human Reproduction in New York, NY.
Dr. Gleicher grew up in Vienna, Austria, where he initiated his medical studies at Vienna University Medical School. After preclinical years, he switched to Tel Aviv University’s Sackler School of Medicine in Israel, where he graduated and completed a year of rotating internship. He then moved to New York City for a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a fellowship in reproductive immunology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. As Chief Resident he was awarded the Dr. Solomon Silver Award in Clinical Medicine, given annually to “that younger member of The Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical Center staff who best exemplifies the ability to apply the advance in research to the practice of clinical medicine.”
Upon graduation, Dr. Gleicher was appointed to the medical school faculty of Mount Sinai School of Medicine as Assistant Professor, in the department as Head of the Division of Reproductive Immunology and given responsibility for all student and resident education in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Two years later he moved to Chicago as Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Immunology/Microbiology at Rush Medical College. He held these positions for 10 years until his resignation in 1990, when he started to concentrate on development of the Center for Human Reproduction (CHR), which he founded in 1981. Since 1990 Dr. Gleicher has held a variety of academic professorial appointments at Chicago Medical School and, after his move back to New York City, at New York University School of Medicine and Yale University School of Medicine. Since 1999 he is President, Medical Director and Chief Scientist of CHR-New York and President of the not-for-profit Foundation for Reproductive Medicine. He also holds an appointment as Guest Investigator at Rockefeller University and Professor (Adj.) at Medical University Vienna.
Dr. Gleicher has published over 400 peer-reviewed scientific papers, hundreds of abstracts and book chapters in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, relating to medical complications in pregnancy and to the immune system in reproduction. He served as founding Editor-in-Chief for the American Journal of Reproductive Immunology (AJRI), and for 30 years as founding editor of the Journal of In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer, in 1992 renamed Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics (JARG), now an official organ of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). He in addition served and is serving as editor and/or editorial board member on many other medical journals and edited several major textbooks. In 1991, he was awarded Austria’s highest scientific and cultural award, the Austrian Honor Cross for Science and Art for his scientific achievements. In 2009, Dr. Gleicher was invited to give the prestigious bi-annual Patrick Steptoe Memorial Lecture to the British Fertility Society, in recognition of his contributions to advancements in the in vitro fertilization field.

Anne Goriely
After an undergraduate degree in Engineering (Agronomy) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), Anne Goriely obtained a PhD studying the development of the nervous system of the Drosophila embryo. She spent 4 years in New York at Cornell Medical School and Rockefeller University, before moving to the UK to work on the nervous system development of the chick embryo. In 2000 she joined the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (University of Oxford) to study the origin of rare human developmental disorders associated with paternal age effects.
She is currently Professor of Human Genetics based at the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine in Oxford. Using a human genetics approach, her group’s main interests lie in elucidating the mechanisms by which we acquire new germline mutations and the implications of such processes in health and disease.

Michaël Grynberg is an internationally known, board-certified, specialist in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Andrology. He has been founding member of the French Society of Fertility Preservation and is currently the president elect. In 1974 he was Research Fellow at the Centre of Reproductive Biology, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA (Prof Jan Behrman). HCB founded Pantarhei Bioscience in December 2000, where he discovered (i) the natural fetal estrogen Estetrol (E4) as a drug for human use, licensed out to Mithra Pharmaceuticals in Belgium in 2015 for oral contraception and MHT, (ii) a new combined contraceptive pill containing DHEA to prevent symptoms caused by the loss of testosterone due to COCs (the Androgen Restored Contraception (ARC) pill), licensed out to Gedeon Richter in Hungary in 2018 and (iii) an immunotherapy for the treatment of Zona Pellucida 3 Cancer (ZP3C) antigen expressing ovarian, prostate, breast, colon and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In 2014 Pantarhei Oncology was founded as a subsidiary of Pantarhei Bioscience to develop new cancer drugs in the field of Reproductive Endocrine Oncology (REO), with a focus on high dose E4 treatment of advanced breast cancer (BCa) and advanced prostate cancer (PCa). For both E4 cancer applications successful phase 2 proof-of-concept studies have been completed and published in November 2020 (BCa) and May 2021 (PCa) and next phase 2 and 3 studies are in preparation.

Hanna Dusza is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Population Health Sciences, IRAS, Division of Toxicology at Utrecht University. She received her MSc degree in Environmental Biology from the University of Gdansk, Poland, and a second MSc degree in Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology from VU University, Amsterdam. In 2022, she earned her PhD in Toxicology from Utrecht University. Her doctoral research focused on early life health and the characterization of in utero exposures to environmental pollutants. She developed a novel approach for the analysis of endocrine-disrupting compounds in human amniotic fluid and worked on in vitro placental models to study complex in utero toxicokinetics and toxicity of micro- and nanoplastics (MNPs). She now continues efforts to advance our understanding of toxicological and health effects of environmental pollutants on pregnancy and early life, within the AURORA (EU’s Horizon 2020) and MOMENTUM (ZonMW, the Netherlands) projects.

Heinrich Husslein, MD., P.LLM is an obstetrician/gynecologist who specializes in minimal invasive gynecological surgery. Dr. Husslein grew up in Vienna and spent one year during high School in Washington DC. He graduated from the Medical University of Vienna and completed his OB/GYN residency at the Klinikum am Wörthersee in Carinthia, Austria. He completed his 2-year clinical fellowship training in advanced minimal invasive gynaecological surgery at St. Michael´s Hospital at the University of Toronto with Drs. Guylaine Lefebvre, Abheha Satkunaratnam, Sari Kives, Colleen Mcdermott, Deborah Robertson and Dana Soroka. During his residency he pursued a masters degree in medical law at the Johannes Kepler Univeristy in Linz, Austria.

Julia Binder is the Head of Fetal Medicine at the Department of Obstetrics and fetomaternal Medicine as well as the Head of the Preeclampsia Research Group at the Medical University of Vienna. She graduated at the Medical University of Vienna in 2010 and started her training at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical University of Vienna. Alongside her training she finished her PhD in Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Medical University of Vienna. Furthermore, Julia completed a one-year fellowship in Fetal Medicine at the Fetal Medicine Unit at St George’s Hospital, University of London in 2017 as well as a three year Fellowship in fetomaternal Medicine at the Medical University of Vienna, accredited by the EBCOG, in 2020. In May 2021 Julia habilitated with the topic ‘Angiogenic markers and maternal hemodynamic function in women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy’, achieving the title ‘Privatdozentin‘ with the license to teach at the Medical University of Vienna.
In 2023 she became Ap. Professor at the Medical University of Vienna.
Her main fields of research and interest include hypertensive disorders of pregnancy with a special focus on maternal cardiovascular system, fetal growth restriction, fetal neurosonography and fetal echocardiography.

Prof. Jan Brosens graduated from the Catholic University Leuven, Belgium in 1990 and pursued postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the United Kingdom. He became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1995 and a Fellow of the College in 2008. He obtained a Ph.D. from the University of London in 1999 and was awarded a Wellcome Trust Clinical Scientist Fellowship. He joint Imperial College London, first as Chair of Reproductive Sciences (2004) and then Chair of Reproductive Medicine (2008). In May 2011, he was appointed as Chair of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Warwick. He is currently also the Scientific Director of the Tommy’s National Centre for Miscarriage Research, a partnership between the Universities of Warwick, Birmingham, Imperial College London and their partner NHS trusts. -
Prof Justin Clark is a Consultant Gynaecologist at the Birmingham Women’s & Children’s Hospital and University of Birmingham. He is the Immediate Past President of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy. His clinical and research interests are in managing abnormal uterine bleeding / pelvic pain and endoscopic surgery. He has pioneered ambulatory gynaecology and has written the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists “green-top” evidence-based guidelines on best practice in office hysteroscopy. He has published widely, holds substantial research funding and is an Editor of the BJOG and FVVO.

Jacques Donnez was born in Tournai (Belgium) on 16 July, 1947.
He studied at the Catholic University of Louvain.
He defended his PhD thesis in 1984, entitled “The fallopian tube: normal and pathological
histophysiology”.
He became Full Professor and Head of the Department Gynaecology and Andrology in 1986.
He also founded the Infertility Research Unit of the Catholic University of Louvain in 1986.
He has focused his research activities on three main topics: tubal infertility, endometriosis
and finally, ovarian cryopreservation and transplantation.
He published over 600 original articles in peer-review journals.
Prof. Donnez was the first President of the recently created International Society for Fertility
Preservation (until end of 2010) and has been elected in Februari 2009 at the Royal Belgian
Academy of Medicine. -
Stefan Jirecek , MD, is an obstetrician/gynecologist who graduated from the Medical University Vienna. He completed his residency at the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology at the University of Vienna. Niels Jørgensen is specialist in medical endocrinology and certified as andrologist by European Academy of Andrology. He is head of the clinical andrology section at Department of Growth and Reproduction at Rigshospitalet in Denmark. Since 1996 Niels Jørgensen has undertaken and coordinated Danish and international scientific projects focusing on the testicular function of more than 12,000 men from the general populations, selected fertile or infertile men. Besides describing the actual testicular function (semen quality and endocrine function) these studies have also focused on addressing the impact of exogenous exposures, life style and genetic factors on testicular function and testicular function and general health.

Professor Joop S.E. Laven is professor in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility based at Erasmus Medical Centre, Rotterdam in the Netherlands and was initially trained at the University of Utrecht in the same country. After Medical school he completed his Ph.D. thesis on clinical and experimental aspects of varicocele at Utrecht University in 1991. From 1991 till 1997 he continued his training at the University Medical Center St. Radboud in Nijmegen. In 1997 he became board certified in OBGYN (FRCOG) and moved to the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam. In 2000 he became certified subspecialist Reproductive Medicine. He is a member of ESHRE, ASRM, the Endocrine Society, the Society of Gynecological Investigation (SGI) and the Royal Dutch College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is the past president of the Dutch Society of Reproductive Medicine. He is the president-elect of AE-PCOS society
For many years he had a particular interest in the management of polycystic ovary syndrome covering the full spectrum from the effects of the syndrome during adolescence and adult life on the menstrual cycle, fertility, body weight and cosmetic aspects. During the last decade the research focussed on more fundamental effects that PCOS may have on quality of life and long-term health risks as well as the genetic basis of the disease. More recently he was also involved in Genome Wide Association Studies (GWAS) exploring the genetic basis of PCOS, premature ovarian insufficiency, menarche and menopause.
He has published over 350 peer-reviewed papers and several reviews as well as chapters in books, and has delivered over 400 lectures to international scientific audiences. He is a past member of the editorial board of Human Reproduction Update, Human Reproduction and the Journal of Endocrine Society. He is a visiting professor at the University of Shandong, Shandong, China and the University of Adelaide, Australia. He is also a member of the international guideline groups for PCOS, POI and unexplained infertility within the Center of Research Excellence (WHIRL) Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. -
Jean-Léon Maître leads the team Mechanics of mammalian development at the Institut Curie since 2016. Jean-Léon Maître completed his PhD work on the mechanics of cell adhesion during zebrafish gastrulation with Prof Carl-Philipp Heisenberg at the Max Planck Institute for Cell Biology in Dresden and Genetics and then at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria In Klosterneuburg. He then pioneered the mechanical analysis of mouse preimplantation development together with Dr Takashi Hiiragi at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg. Since then, the lab of Jean-Léon Maître uses microscopy, genetics and biophysics tools to understand the forces controlling the early development of mammals, including humans.

Asma Khalil is a Professor of Obstetrics and Maternal Fetal Medicine at St George’s Hospital, University of London. She is the Obstetric Lead of the National Maternity and Perinatal Audit (NMPA). 1. Director of the Research Centre for Fetal Medicine, King’s College Hospital
This centre, which was opened in 1984 by Princess Diana, was the first Fetal Medicine Centre in Britain and is the biggest one in the world. More than 20,000 patients are examined each year and many of these patients are referred from other hospitals in Britain and other countries because of serious complications of pregnancy. In addition, more than 200 doctors from all over the world visit the centre to observe and receive training.
2. Founder and Chairman of the Fetal Medicine Foundation
This charity was set up in 1995. The main source of income is a private clinic which donates all its profits to the charity. The aims are to promote research and training in Fetal Medicine throughout the World. More than £45,000,000 have been donated to finance the training of many doctors from all over the world and to carry out major multicentre studies on screening and prevention of preterm delivery and preeclampsia, which are the leading causes of perinatal mortality. The Foundation has also introduced the yearly World Congress in Fetal Medicine and has implemented a series of educational courses throughout the World.

1. Screening for chromosomal defects
Developed a new method based on a combination of ultrasound findings and maternal serum biochemistry at 11-13 weeks. This method has evolved over the last 26 years from: (i) observational phase to (ii) development of a model, to (iii) controlled clinical implementation, to (iv) establishment of an international network of centres in more than 60 countries for continuing audit and development. It has also evolved by the introduction of new sonographic and biochemical markers into the most effective method of early screening worldwide. Recently, several studies have examined the effectiveness of cfDNA analysis of maternal blood and a proposal that this method should be offered contingent on the results of the combined test.
2. Screening for fetal abnormalities
Described a sonographic method for the prenatal diagnosis of spina bifida, which is now performed world wide. Continuing research arising from the ultrasound screening programme at 11-13 weeks has established the effectiveness of this scan in firstly, detecting a wide range of fetal defects, with emphasis on cardiac abnormalities, which are the commonest cause of neonatal and infant mortality from congenital defects, and secondly, describing more that 50 congenital defects and genetic syndromes in association with increased nuchal translucency thickness.
3. Screening for and prevention of preterm birth
Preterm birth is the main cause of perinatal death and handicap in survivors. A series of studies over the last 15 years have established that first, effective screening can be provided by sonographic measurement of cervical length at 20 weeks, second, a major multicentre RCT has shown that cervical cerclage does not prevent preterm birth, third, a major multicentre RCT has shown that the prophylactic
use of progesterone in women with a short cervix can reduce the rate of preterm birth by about 40%, fourth, two major multicentre RCTs have shown that the use of a cervical pessary in singleton and twin pregnancies does not prevent preterm birth.
4. Screening for and prevention of pre-eclampsia and fetal growth restriction
This is an important cause of maternal mortality and morbidity and fetal mortality as well as possible causes of adult cardiovascular and endocrine disease. A series of studies over the last 20 years have established that: first, growth restricted fetuses demonstrate fetal hypoxemia and impaired biochemistry, metabolism, hematology and immunology, second, fetal hypoxemia can be predicted non-invasively by Doppler ultrasound demonstrating a redistribution in the fetal circulation, third, effective screening for pre-eclampsia and fetal growth restriction can be provided by Doppler sonographic measurement of blood fow in the uterine arteries at 20 weeks of pregnancy and fourth screening for pre-eclampsia and fetal growth restriction can be provided by a combination of Doppler measurement of blood fow in the uterine arteries, mean arterial pressure and serum placental growth factor at 11-13 weeks’ gestation. We performed major multicentre RCTs which showed that the use of low dose aspirin after 20 weeks in high-risk pregnancies does not prevent preeclampsia, but treatment starting from 12 weeks is highly effective.
5. Fetal therapy
Research in our centre over the last 35 years has established a series of effective intrauterine therapeutic interventions including fetal blood transfusions for red cell isoimmunized pregnancies, fetal platelet transfusions for alloimmune thrombocytopenia, pleuro-amniotic shunting for fetal pleural effusions, endoscopic laser separation of communicating placental vessels in monochorionic twins with severe twin transfusion syndrome or selective growth restriction and in collaboration with professors Jan Deprest and Eduard Gratacos endoscopic placement of a balloon in the fetal trachea in fetuses with diaphragm -
Prof. PD. MD. Kazem Nouri MBA studied medicine at the medical school of Vienna. After completing a three years of training for Turnus (General Medicine/ Family practice) and residency in OB/GYN in Wolfsberg and Klagenfurt Hospital, he performed his fellowship at the department of gynecological endocrinology and reproductive medicine of the medical university of Vienna, where he served as Co-Director of the Department and director of IVF- and fertility surgery-Unit and Fertility preservation program till April 2019. He has published more than 100 scientific papers in peer reviewed and other medical journals and given more than 700 national and international lectures. He is the current president of the Austrian society for sterility, fertility and endocrinology, the scientific secretary and scientific board member of the Austrian IVF-Society. He served from 2017 till 2020 as the Austrian clinical representative in ESHRE Committee of National Representatives.
In June 2021 he was given his MBA degree from the Vienna University economics and business.
From April 2019 he served as the medical director of TFP Austria (former VivaNeo) with three IVF Centers in Vienna, Wels, and Klagenfurt.
His current position is the medical director of Kinderwunsch Burgenland.
He is the founder of Kinderwunschberatungakademie which provides lectures, meetings, and webinars in the field of reproductive medicine and gynecological endocrinology. -

Prof. Liran Hiersch received his MD from Tel Aviv University, Israel. He did a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rabin Medical Center and Lis Hospital for Women, both affiliated to Tel Aviv University, followed by a fellowship in Advanced Obstetrics and Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Toronto (Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, ON, Canada). He is the head of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine inpatient unit and the High-Risk Pregnancy outpatient clinics at Lis Hospital for Women and an Associate Professor at Tel Aviv University. He has published more than 150 original manuscripts, reviews and chapters in books, focusing on the field of pregnancy-complications and maternal-fetal medicine.

Professor Joop S.E. Laven is professor in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility based at Erasmus Medical Centre, Rotterdam in the Netherlands and was initially trained at the University of Utrecht in the same country. After Medical school he completed his Ph.D. thesis on clinical and experimental aspects of varicocele at Utrecht University in 1991. From 1991 till 1997 he continued his training at the University Medical Center St. Radboud in Nijmegen. In 1997 he became board certified in OBGYN (FRCOG) and moved to the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam. In 2000 he became certified subspecialist Reproductive Medicine. He is a member of ESHRE, ASRM, the Endocrine Society, the Society of Gynecological Investigation (SGI) and the Royal Dutch College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is the past president of the Dutch Society of Reproductive Medicine. He is the president-elect of AE-PCOS society
For many years he had a particular interest in the management of polycystic ovary syndrome covering the full spectrum from the effects of the syndrome during adolescence and adult life on the menstrual cycle, fertility, body weight and cosmetic aspects. During the last decade the research focussed on more fundamental effects that PCOS may have on quality of life and long-term health risks as well as the genetic basis of the disease. More recently he was also involved in Genome Wide Association Studies (GWAS) exploring the genetic basis of PCOS, premature ovarian insufficiency, menarche and menopause.
He has published over 350 peer-reviewed papers and several reviews as well as chapters in books, and has delivered over 400 lectures to international scientific audiences. He is a past member of the editorial board of Human Reproduction Update, Human Reproduction and the Journal of Endocrine Society. He is a visiting professor at the University of Shandong, Shandong, China and the University of Adelaide, Australia. He is also a member of the international guideline groups for PCOS, POI and unexplained infertility within the Center of Research Excellence (WHIRL) Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

Mark Brincat

Professor Brincat served as Chairman and Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Department of Health on the Maltese Islands from 1991-2018.He is currently Professor at the University of Malta Medical School (O&G) and Hon. Clinical Professor at Queen Mary University London (QMUL), from Nov ’17 to present (Medical Education). He is also an Associate Dean at QMUL, Bart’s Medical School (Malta).Professor Brincat has held several posts and has served on several committees including ISGE, EMAS, IMS and ESHRE. His academic work was mostly in Gynaecological Endocrinology. He has had a special interest in Menopause and his PhD (King’s College, University of London) concerned work on the relationship of the Menopause and HRT on connective tissue, particularly on the skin and bone.He has presented keynote lectures and published extensively on the subject of the menopause in a broad range of subjects. He also founded the first Maltese ART (IVF) Unit and has also had a long-standing interest in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.Prof Brincat continues to lecture both undergraduates and postgraduates and is still actively involved in Menopause and Infertility, recently also picking up an interest in the application of gynaecological laser techniques. -
Mariano Buffone, Spain/ArgentinaMariano G Buffone Ph.D. earned his Bachelors and master’s degree in Biochemistry from University of Buenos Aires, Argentina where he also obtained his PhD. He then moved to the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, USA) as a postdoctoral fellow under the direction of professors George L. Gerton and Richard M. Schultz.
In 2010, Dr Buffone moved to Buenos Aires and became Assistant Professor at the Instituto de Biologia y Medicina Experimental in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he leads his research team
Since 2015, he assumed his present position as Professor at the same institution. He was recently appointed as Vice Director of the Institute.
His laboratory seeks to understand the complex process of mammalian sperm capacitation with particular emphasis in the process of acrosomal exocytosis. To this end, his lab uses a wide range of approaches that include the analysis of signaling pathways, single cell imaging experiments, super resolution microscopy and in vivo studies. Michel De Vos, MD, PhD, is a senior medical director at Brussels IVF, the Centre for Reproductive Medicine at Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel, Belgium and an associate professor in reproductive medicine at Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
He studied medicine in Ghent, Belgium (MD 1997), has been a gynaecologist since 2006 and holds a PhD in medicine from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom (2007). In 2011, he was recognised as a subspecialist in reproductive medicine and surgery by ESHRE and the European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (EBCOG). His main research focus is on fertility treatment in women with polycystic ovary syndrome and on fertility preservation. Prof. Marie-Madeleine Dolmans earned her medical degree from the Université Catholique de Louvain in Brussels in 2000, and her PhD degree on “Cryopreservation and transplantation of human ovarian tissue” in 2006. She is gynecologist and divides her time equally between clinical and research activities. She succeeded Prof. Donnez as Head of the Gynecology Research Unit at the Université Catholique de Louvain in 2012. She is Past President of the International Society for Fertility Preservation (ISFP). Her research work focuses on human ovarian transplantation, fibroids and adenomyosis in the field of which she has published over 220 peer-reviewed articles. Michaël Grynberg is an internationally known, board-certified, specialist in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Andrology. He is Professor and Director of the Department of Reproductive Medicine & Fertility Preservation in Antoine Béclère University hospital. He has been founding member of the French Society of Fertility Preservation and is currently the president elect. He is also a member of the Reproductive Endocrinology special interest group of the ESHRE and the Head of the Fertility Department within the French College of Obstetrician Gynecologists. He has authored 3 books, 362 scientific papers (54 book chapters, 153 peer-reviewed publications and 134 abstracts). Jean-Léon Maître leads the team Mechanics of mammalian development at the Institut Curie since 2016. Jean-Léon Maître completed his PhD work on the mechanics of cell adhesion during zebrafish gastrulation with Prof Carl-Philipp Heisenberg at the Max Planck Institute for Cell Biology in Dresden and Genetics and then at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria In Klosterneuburg. He then pioneered the mechanical analysis of mouse preimplantation development together with Dr Takashi Hiiragi at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg. Since then, the lab of Jean-Léon Maître uses microscopy, genetics and biophysics tools to understand the forces controlling the early development of mammals, including humans.

Dr. Elisa Maseroli received the MD degree and the Postgraduate Diploma in Endocrinology and Metabolism Diseases at the University of Florence, School of Human Health Sciences, Italy, in 2016, and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences at the Department of Experimental and Clinical Biomedical Sciences “Mario Serio” in the same University, in 2020. She is a clinician at the Andrology, Women’s Endocrinology and Gender Incongruence Unit (director Prof. Linda Vignozzi) at Careggi Hospital in Florence, Italy.
Dr. Maseroli is the chair of the ESSM (European Society for Sexual Medicine) Female Ultrasound School and member of the International Consultation on Sexual Medicine (ICSM 2024) for the Clinical Evaluation and Treatment of Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder in women. She is also a member of the scientific committee of the Italian Society of Andrology and Sexual Medicine, of the Ad Hoc Research Grant committee of the International Society for Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH), and of the Female Sexual Dysfunction committee of the ESSM.

Sebastiaan Mastenbroek, Netherlands
Dr. Sebastiaan Mastenbroek is an Assistant Professor at the University of Amsterdam and one of the Senior Clinical Embryologists of the Center for Reproductive Medicine of the Amsterdam UMC. An important focus of his research has been Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS / PGT-A). Publication of his RCT on PGS in the New England Journal of Medicine started a fiercely debated controversy on the use of PGS as it showed that the technique actually lowered pregnancy rates after IVF instead of increasing them. He is an associate editor of Human Reproduction Open, editor of the Cochrane Gynaecology and Fertility Group, chair of the Science Committee of the Dutch Society for Clinical Embryology, board member of the special interest group ART of the Dutch Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, board member of the SAF foundation, and board member of the Amsterdam Reproduction and Development Research Institute. -

Dr. Melamed is a staff physician in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto, Canada, and a Professor at the University of Toronto.
He is a Senior Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute and the Director of Research at the Women and Babies Program.
Dr. Melamed is the recipient of the Waugh Family Chair in Twin Research at the University of Toronto and is the Director of the Sunnybrook Twin Research Center (https://twincentre.sunnybrook.ca/).
Dr. Melamed has co-authored over 200 original research papers. His main topics of interest include twin pregnancies, placental disease, and fetal growth. -
Dr Pedro Melo is a subspecialty fellow in Reproductive Medicine at Oxford University Hospitals and an NIHR Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford. He completed his undergraduate training in Lisbon and Paris, followed by a Master’s in Clinical Embryology at Oxford and a PhD in Reproductive Medicine at the University of Birmingham. Following medical graduation from Vienna, she completed a 2-year foundation training within the East of England Deanery and obtained her specialist training in the UK, Switzerland and Austria. Beside her medical degree, Dr Muin received a Master of Science in Gender Medicine, a Master of Science in Medical Genetics and a Master of Research in Pregnancy and Reproduction.
Dr Muin’s research focuses on intrauterine fetal death and placental dysfunction leading to intrauterine growth restriction and eventually stillbirth. In 2018, she worked one year at the Tommy’s Stillbirth Research Centre in Manchester, UK. Currently, she is the head of the Stillbirth Research Group “Austrian Stillbirth Alliance” at the Medical University of Vienna, collaborating with national and international researchers on epidemiological data and conducting laboratory investigations in the field of placental dysfunction. Her goal is to contribute to early detection of fetal compromise and establish prevention strategies to help reduce antepartum stillbirth worldwide.
Olha Mykytas graduated from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 2000 with a Master’s degree in molecular biology and biophysics. She worked in the biochemistry laboratory of the Institute of Poliomyelitis and Viral Encephalitis, studied the interaction of viruses with cells. She received a Master’s degree in Biology with honors from the Kiev National University with a degree in laboratory genetics, worked as an embryologist in Kyiv from 2013 to February 2022. From March 2022 to the present, she has been working as an embryologist in Vienna (Senior Scientist in Vienna MedUniversity).

Dr. Mina Popovic, PhD (Eugin, Spain)
Dr Mina Popovic is a geneticist and clinical embryologist. She is currently the Scientific Director of the Eugin Group in Barcelona, Spain and the coordinator of ESHRE’s Special Interest Group Stem Cells. Dr. Popovic completed her undergraduate studies in genetics and Masters in molecular biology at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. She received her PhD from Ghent University in Belgium, investigating the impact of chromosomal instability on early human development. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked as a clinical embryologist for over five years, at Genea (previously Sydney IVF) in Australia. Throughout her career she gained extensive experience in embryo genetics and preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), as well as modelling early human development and human stem cell biology.

Marta Shahbazi is a group leader at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB). She obtained her Ph.D. in 2013 at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre, and in 2014 she joined the laboratory of Prof. Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz at the University of Cambridge to study mammalian embryo development at implantation. As a post-doctoral fellow, she developed a method to culture human embryos beyond implantation in vitro, and explore the consequences of aneuploidy for human embryo development. She joined the LMB in February 2020 to understand self-organization and developmental plasticity in mouse and human embryos.

Michael Sinosich
Michael has focussed his research and service to improve management of womens’ reproductive health and delivery of prenatal healthcare. His research on placental physiology and pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) laid the foundations for prenatal serum screening in early pregnancy. As Clinical Associate Professor (University of Sydney, 1998), he has taught undergraduate and supervised post-graduate students and has recently been made a Fellow of the Faculty of Science (FFSc) RCPA (2018). He currently holds position of Scientific Director and Manager of Prenatal Testing, DHM Pathology, Sonic Healthcare, where he continues with his commitment to improving prenatal healthcare and outcomes for mothers and their babies.
Professor Jessica Ybanez-Morano, MD, MPH, FACOG, CPEDr. Jessica Ybanez-Morano is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Northeast Ohio Medical University. She practices at the West Virginia University Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital. She is the Medical Director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She specializes in reduced site gynecologic laparoscopic techniques and vaginal re-enhancement. She is focused with single-site laparoscopic surgery for gynecology procedures. Dr. Ybanez-Morano continues to practice high-risk Obstetrics. Recently, she serves as Immediate Past President for SLS (The Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons) in 2021.
Dr. Ybanez-Morano is doubly boarded with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Physician Executives (aka the American Association of Physician Leaders.) Dr. Norbert Gleicher, MD, FACOG, FACS, is the Chief Scientist and Medical Director at the Center for Human Reproduction in New York, NY.
Dr. Gleicher grew up in Vienna, Austria, where he initiated his medical studies at Vienna University Medical School. After preclinical years, he switched to Tel Aviv University’s Sackler School of Medicine in Israel, where he graduated and completed a year of rotating internship. He then moved to New York City for a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a fellowship in reproductive immunology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. As Chief Resident he was awarded the Dr. Solomon Silver Award in Clinical Medicine, given annually to “that younger member of The Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical Center staff who best exemplifies the ability to apply the advance in research to the practice of clinical medicine.”
Upon graduation, Dr. Gleicher was appointed to the medical school faculty of Mount Sinai School of Medicine as Assistant Professor, in the department as Head of the Division of Reproductive Immunology and given responsibility for all student and resident education in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Two years later he moved to Chicago as Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Immunology/Microbiology at Rush Medical College. He held these positions for 10 years until his resignation in 1990, when he started to concentrate on development of the Center for Human Reproduction (CHR), which he founded in 1981. Since 1990 Dr. Gleicher has held a variety of academic professorial appointments at Chicago Medical School and, after his move back to New York City, at New York University School of Medicine and Yale University School of Medicine. Since 1999 he is President, Medical Director and Chief Scientist of CHR-New York and President of the not-for-profit Foundation for Reproductive Medicine. He also holds an appointment as Guest Investigator at Rockefeller University and Professor (Adj.) at Medical University Vienna.
Dr. Gleicher has published over 400 peer-reviewed scientific papers, hundreds of abstracts and book chapters in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, relating to medical complications in pregnancy and to the immune system in reproduction. He served as founding Editor-in-Chief for the American Journal of Reproductive Immunology (AJRI), and for 30 years as founding editor of the Journal of In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer, in 1992 renamed Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics (JARG), now an official organ of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). He in addition served and is serving as editor and/or editorial board member on many other medical journals and edited several major textbooks. In 1991, he was awarded Austria’s highest scientific and cultural award, the Austrian Honor Cross for Science and Art for his scientific achievements. In 2009, Dr. Gleicher was invited to give the prestigious bi-annual Patrick Steptoe Memorial Lecture to the British Fertility Society, in recognition of his contributions to advancements in the in vitro fertilization field.

1. Director of the Research Centre for Fetal Medicine, King’s College Hospital
This centre, which was opened in 1984 by Princess Diana, was the first Fetal Medicine Centre in Britain and is the biggest one in the world. More than 20,000 patients are examined each year and many of these patients are referred from other hospitals in Britain and other countries because of serious complications of pregnancy. In addition, more than 200 doctors from all over the world visit the centre to observe and receive training.
2. Founder and Chairman of the Fetal Medicine Foundation
This charity was set up in 1995. The main source of income is a private clinic which donates all its profits to the charity. The aims are to promote research and training in Fetal Medicine throughout the World. More than £45,000,000 have been donated to finance the training of many doctors from all over the world and to carry out major multicentre studies on screening and prevention of preterm delivery and preeclampsia, which are the leading causes of perinatal mortality. The Foundation has also introduced the yearly World Congress in Fetal Medicine and has implemented a series of educational courses throughout the World.

Has been a member of several study groups of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the chairman of the Educational Committee of the World Association of Perinatal Medicine and the chairman of the Scientific Committee of the International Society Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.AREAS OF RESEARCH
1. Screening for chromosomal defects
Developed a new method based on a combination of ultrasound findings and maternal serum biochemistry at 11-13 weeks. This method has evolved over the last 26 years from: (i) observational phase to (ii) development of a model, to (iii) controlled clinical implementation, to (iv) establishment of an international network of centres in more than 60 countries for continuing audit and development. It has also evolved by the introduction of new sonographic and biochemical markers into the most effective method of early screening worldwide. Recently, several studies have examined the effectiveness of cfDNA analysis of maternal blood and a proposal that this method should be offered contingent on the results of the combined test.
2. Screening for fetal abnormalities
Described a sonographic method for the prenatal diagnosis of spina bifida, which is now performed world wide. Continuing research arising from the ultrasound screening programme at 11-13 weeks has established the effectiveness of this scan in firstly, detecting a wide range of fetal defects, with emphasis on cardiac abnormalities, which are the commonest cause of neonatal and infant mortality from congenital defects, and secondly, describing more that 50 congenital defects and genetic syndromes in association with increased nuchal translucency thickness.
3. Screening for and prevention of preterm birth
Preterm birth is the main cause of perinatal death and handicap in survivors. A series of studies over the last 15 years have established that first, effective screening can be provided by sonographic measurement of cervical length at 20 weeks, second, a major multicentre RCT has shown that cervical cerclage does not prevent preterm birth, third, a major multicentre RCT has shown that the prophylactic
use of progesterone in women with a short cervix can reduce the rate of preterm birth by about 40%, fourth, two major multicentre RCTs have shown that the use of a cervical pessary in singleton and twin pregnancies does not prevent preterm birth.
4. Screening for and prevention of pre-eclampsia and fetal growth restriction
This is an important cause of maternal mortality and morbidity and fetal mortality as well as possible causes of adult cardiovascular and endocrine disease. A series of studies over the last 20 years have established that: first, growth restricted fetuses demonstrate fetal hypoxemia and impaired biochemistry, metabolism, hematology and immunology, second, fetal hypoxemia can be predicted non-invasively by Doppler ultrasound demonstrating a redistribution in the fetal circulation, third, effective screening for pre-eclampsia and fetal growth restriction can be provided by Doppler sonographic measurement of blood fow in the uterine arteries at 20 weeks of pregnancy and fourth screening for pre-eclampsia and fetal growth restriction can be provided by a combination of Doppler measurement of blood fow in the uterine arteries, mean arterial pressure and serum placental growth factor at 11-13 weeks’ gestation. We performed major multicentre RCTs which showed that the use of low dose aspirin after 20 weeks in high-risk pregnancies does not prevent preeclampsia, but treatment starting from 12 weeks is highly effective.
5. Fetal therapy
Research in our centre over the last 35 years has established a series of effective intrauterine therapeutic interventions including fetal blood transfusions for red cell isoimmunized pregnancies, fetal platelet transfusions for alloimmune thrombocytopenia, pleuro-amniotic shunting for fetal pleural effusions, endoscopic laser separation of communicating placental vessels in monochorionic twins with severe twin transfusion syndrome or selective growth restriction and in collaboration with professors Jan Deprest and Eduard Gratacos endoscopic placement of a balloon in the fetal trachea in fetuses with diaphragm
Prof. PD. MD. Kazem Nouri MBA studied medicine at the medical school of Vienna. After completing a three years of training for Turnus (General Medicine/ Family practice) and residency in OB/GYN in Wolfsberg and Klagenfurt Hospital, he performed his fellowship at the department of gynecological endocrinology and reproductive medicine of the medical university of Vienna, where he served as Co-Director of the Department and director of IVF- and fertility surgery-Unit and Fertility preservation program till April 2019. He has published more than 100 scientific papers in peer reviewed and other medical journals and given more than 700 national and international lectures. He is the current president of the Austrian society for sterility, fertility and endocrinology, the scientific secretary and scientific board member of the Austrian IVF-Society. Prof. Pierluigi Benedetti Panici is the Director of University Department of Gynecological and Obstetrics Sciences and Urological Sciences Umberto I Hospital, University “Sapienza” of Rome since October 2016 onward.
After the medical degree ‘cum laude’ at University “Sapienza” of Rome in 1975, he was medical assistant at the Department of Gynecologic Oncology of National Cancer Institute (Milan) and at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Catholic University (Rome). He was also Honorary Assistant at Breast Unit Cancer Research Found Guy’s Hospital of London in 1983 and Assistant Professor and Head of the Gynecology Oncology Section from 1986 to 1991 at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Catholic University (Rome).
He has a great experience in Gynecologic-Oncologic Surgery and paid particular attention to this research field along time.

Paul A. Fowler
Following his BSc Hons and PhD in Zoology, Professor Fowler worked on ovarian hormones in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, University of Aberdeen. In 2000, he moved to the University of Aberdeen’s Institute of Medical Sciences and was its director for 6 years (2015-21). His work elucidates mechanisms regulating/dysregulating reproduction and development. He has over 170 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and co-authored numerous European Food Standards Agency opinions. Since 2000, his research focused principally on effects of environmental/lifestyle exposures, including maternal smoking, obesity, and medication use. This aims to understand disruption of fetal development and health, principally using normal first and second trimester human fetus. Since 2009 he has led/participated in 4 large EU research programmes studying endocrine disruption and received MRC, BBSRC, Wellcome Trust, charities and PARC (Partnership of the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals, 2022-2029) funding. In 2023 he was awarded the Anne McLaren Distinguished Scientist award by the Society for Reproduction & Fertility. -
Dr Pedro Melo is a subspecialty fellow in Reproductive Medicine at Oxford University Hospitals and an NIHR Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford. She obtained her Ph.D. in 2013 at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre, and in 2014 she joined the laboratory of Prof. Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz at the University of Cambridge to study mammalian embryo development at implantation. As a post-doctoral fellow, she developed a method to culture human embryos beyond implantation in vitro, and explore the consequences of aneuploidy for human embryo development. Prof. Dr. Arne Vanhie is a gynecologist at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University Hospital Leuven, Belgium, with a special interest in endometriosis and infertility. He obtained his medical degree at Leuven University, Belgium. During his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology he worked at the University Hospital Leuven and University Hospital of Wales, in Cardiff. He holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences with a thesis on microRNA as biomarkers for endometriosis. As part of his PhD he worked on a two year project in the baboon model for endometriosis at the Institute of Primate Research in Nairobi, Kenya. Professor Jessica Ybanez-Morano, MD, MPH, FACOG, CPEDr. Jessica Ybanez-Morano is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Northeast Ohio Medical University. She practices at the West Virginia University Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital. She is the Medical Director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She specializes in reduced site gynecologic laparoscopic techniques and vaginal re-enhancement. She is focused with single-site laparoscopic surgery for gynecology procedures. Dr. Ybanez-Morano continues to practice high-risk Obstetrics. Recently, she serves as Immediate Past President for SLS (The Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons) in 2021.

Prof. Yariv Yogev graduated medical school in The Technion University, Haifa, Israel and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Helen Schneider Hospital, Rabin Medical Center. He completed his clinical and research fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Columbia University and St. Lukes-Roosvelt Hospital in New York.
