
Dr. Catherine Racowsky, Ph.D., HCLD
Dr. Catherine Racowsky is Professor Emerita of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, Harvard Medical School, and was director of the IVF laboratory at Brigham and Women’s Hospital for over 20 years. She is currently CEO of Ostara Scientific Consulting and CSO of OvoScore.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Zoology at the University of Oxford, her Ph.D. in Reproductive Physiology from the University of Cambridge and undertook her post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Racowsky is a Past President of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and has received several awards from the ASRM including the 2025 ASRM Lifetime Achievement Award. She is currently an Editorial Editor of Fertility and Sterility, and an Associate Editor of Human Reproduction, and is an editorial board member of the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, Reproductive Biomedicine Online and Fertility and Sterility Science. Her research interests include investigating oocyte molecular and cellular mechanisms and expanding methodologies for assessing human embryo developmental competency. She has authored over 200 peer-reviewed papers, has published many news releases and book chapters, has co-edited nine books, and has mentored numerous clinical trainees and embryologists in reproductive medicine, both in the US and around the world.
