
Christiani Amorim
Christiani obtained her PhD in Veterinary Medicine from the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, Brazil. In 2007, she transitioned from animal reproduction to human fertility as a postdoctoral fellow at UCLouvain, where she has been developing strategies to restore fertility in cancer patients. Currently, she is a professor at UCLouvain, leading the Research Pole in Reproductive Physiopathology. Her research group focuses on ovarian tissue preservation, photodynamic therapy, cell differentiation, and ovarian tissue engineering. Christiani is also an honorary research associate at the Belgian National Fund for Scientific Research and Chief Scientific Officer at ProFaM (UK). She has held roles as an Adjunct Faculty member at Southern Illinois University (USA), president of the Low Temperature Biology Society, Basic Scientific Officer of ESHRE’s Stem Cell Special Interest Group, and associate editor for Human Reproduction Update.
