Dr. Elias TsakosMD(Hons), FRCOG
Dr. Elias Tsakos is a Senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Master Gynaecological Surgeon, and Fertility Specialist with more than 30 years of experience in the specialty. His clinical focus lies in reproductive medicine and advanced minimal-access surgery, including robotic surgery, and he is widely recognised for his expertise in these fields.
He currently holds a number of senior leadership positions:
– Founder & Medical Director, EmbryoClinic IVF Unit, Thessaloniki, Greece
– Director of Robotic Surgery, Robotic Gynaecology Department, St. Luke’s Hospital, Thessaloniki
– President, Hellenic Robotic Gynaecological Society (HERGS)
– Chair, International Representative Committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) for Greece and Cyprus
Dr. Tsakos was extensively trained and certified in England under the auspices of the RCOG, where he was subsequently elected Fellow (FRCOG) in recognition of his contribution to the advancement of women’s health. He graduated with First Class Honours from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Medicine.
His fields of interest include reproductive medicine, with a particular focus on innovative techniques in both the clinical and the laboratory setting, including the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into reproductive medicine. He is also dedicated to innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in endometriosis, fibroids, and complex fertility management, spanning the full spectrum from hysteroscopy to uterus transplantation.
An accomplished researcher, author, and educator, he has published more than 40 peer-reviewed papers in his fields of interest and is a frequent invited speaker and faculty member at leading international congresses in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Reproductive Medicine, and Infertility. He is well known for his innovative approach and his commitment to evidence-based medicine and clinical excellence.
