Prof. Dr. Christian Egarter was appointed as specialist for OB/GYN at the Medical University of Vienna in 1988. From 1991-1993 he was Head of the Department of OB/GYN in Vöcklabruck, Upper Austria. Thereafter, he returned to Vienna to become Deputy Head of the Department of Obstetrics. From 2011 to 2022 he served as Head of the Department of Gynecological Endocrinology & Reproductive Medicine at the Medical University of Vienna. In 2012 Prof. Egarter became President of the “Austrian Society for Sterility, Fertility, and Endocrinology” and Vice-president of the “Austrian Family Planning Society”. In 2014 he was appointed as Member of the Bioethics Commission at the Federal Chancellery of the Austrian government. Prof. Egarter published more than 300 papers in national and international journals and the elaborate number of research grants includes the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science and Concerted Actions of the EU Commission.
