
Dr. Howard Bergercompleted medical school and Obstetric and Gynecology residency in Israel. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Mt Sinai Hospital, Toronto.
From 2006-2025 Dr. Berger led the division of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Obstetric Ultrasound at St. Michael’s hospital, Toronto and was the director of the Advanced High Risk Obstetric Fellowship Program. Since September 2025 he has taken on a new position as Chief of Obstetrics And Gynecology and Co-Medical Director of The Women And Children’s Program at Lakeridge Health Ontario.
He is a full Professor in the University Of Toronto Department Of Obstetrics and Gynecology, cross appointed at the Department of Health Policy Management and Evaluation and an adjunct staff at the Li Ka Shing Research Institute.
He has published over 150 peer reviewed publications, authored practice guidelines and generated research funding in excess of 23 million CAD as PI, Co-PI and collaborator. Research interests include, Diabetes in Pregnancy, Prenatal ultrasound, Pregnancy complications and obesity/adiposity.
