Claus Yding Andersen, MSc, DMSc, is Professor of Human Reproductive Physiology within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, and has been Head of the Laboratory of Reproductive Biology at the University Hospital of Copenhagen since 2009.
Professor Andersen was a member of the team that introduced IVF to Denmark in the mid-1980s and has during the last fifteen years headed a national program of cryopreservation of human ovarian and testicular tissue. He is considered one of the pioneers in this field.
Professor Andersen’s major research contributions have been in ovarian endocrinology, cryopreservation of gonadal tissue and human embryonic stem cells. He has published more than 300 peer-reviewed scientific papers and is a much-requested international lecturer.
