Mauro Cozzolino is a Gynecologist physician attending IVIRMA Roma, Italy where he serves as a specialist in Human Reproduction and Assisted Reproductive Techniques.
He obtained his MD degree from Federico II University, School of Medicine in Naples, Italy. He subsequently entered a residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University Hospital Careggi, University of Florence. After completing a Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at Instituto Valenciano de Infertilidad (IVI–Madrid), Spain, in 2017, he got his PhD at University Rey Juan Carlos in 2023. He got a Fellowship at the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences of Yale School of Medicine from 2018 to 2021. Dr. Cozzolino has been working on the potential mechanisms leading to infertility in women with adenomyosis and the possible effect of adenomyosis in ART. Within this context, Dr. Cozzolino studies determinants of oocyte and embryo health and mechanisms of ovarian aging. In addition, he investigates factors regulating the response to ovarian hyperstimulation during in vitro fertilization in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and poor ovarian response.
