Alessandra Graziottin, a specialist in Gynecology-Obstetrics and Oncology and a Sex Therapist, is Director of the Center for Gynecology and Medical Sexology at the San Raffaele Resnati Hospital in Milano (Italy).
In 2008, she established the Alessandra Graziottin Foundation for the treatment of pain in women (ETS), of which she is President.
Since 2022-23, she has also been Consultant Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Verona (Italy).
In the 2022-23 academic year, she taught the course «Gynecological Endocrinology, Menopause, and Female Sexuality» at the School of Specialization in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at the Federico II University of Naples.
In September 2022, she chaired Workshop 15 on «Endometriosis and comorbid pain: impact on women’s and couples’ sexuality» at the Endometriosis Consensus Strasbourg 2022.
Since 2019, she has been a collaborator for Higher Education in the Medical Area and a lecturer at the First Level University Master’s Degree in Clinical Sexology at the University of Milan-Bicocca. Since 2011, she has been a member of the International Organizing Committee (IOC) of Controversies in Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility (COGI).
Since 2003, she has been an Honorary Member of the Italian Women Doctors Association (AIDM); since 2004, she has been an Honorary Member of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada (SOGC). In 2018, she was awarded the “National Health Award” for Medicine in Italy.
She has published or edited 29 scientific books and proceedings, over 100 scientific book chapters, 9 educational manuals for women, and more than 500 scientific articles, including over 140 peer-reviewed, on various aspects of gynecology, chronic pain, and medical sexology. She has presented over 2,030 scientific papers at national, international, and global conferences and CME courses, including over 130 keynote lectures.
Passionate about the health and quality of life of women and couples in clinical, educational, and educational settings, she is a frequent guest on the web, television, and radio on topics such as gynecology, chronic pain, and sexual medicine. She has contributed regularly to Italian newspapers and magazines since 1984; she is currently a regular columnist for the family weekly “Oggi” and the syndicated daily newspapers “Il Gazzettino” and “Il Mattino”. Since 2023, she has been the author and anchorwoman of “Focus Salute”, a weekly video program for the Italpress news agency.
