Ludwig Kiesel, MD, PhD
, is Chairman of the Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics at the University of Münster School of Medicine, Germany.
He has studied at the University of the Heidelberg School of Medicine Germany, and the Royal Free Hospital Medical School at the University of London UK. Thereafter he earned a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland from 1981-1982. Following his residency at the University of Heidelberg he was faculty member at the University of Tübingen until 2000.
Professor Kiesel is the president of the German Society of Gynecological Endocrinology and Fertility (DGGEF) and member of the board of the European Menopause and Andropause Society (EMAS). He has served previously as president of the German Menopause Society (DMG), the German Joint Societies of Reproductive Medicine (DVR), the German Endometriosis Society (SEF) and as board member of the World Endometriosis Society (WES). His main interests are endometriosis, menopause, minimal invasive surgery and mechanisms of endocrine regulation.
