Vincenzo Stanghellini, MD
Prof. Vincenzo Stanghellini is currently Professor of Medicine at the University of Bologna, where he is leading a successful group of investigators of international reputation.
He is the author of almost 400 scientific publications on peer review journals with almost 40.000 citations (H-Index = 91). He is the winner of The Master Award for Sustained Achievement in Digestive Sciences of the American Gastroenterological Association in 2009 and of the Life Time Achievement Award della European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (ESNM) (2019). His main research interests are represented by the pathophysiology of functional disorders of the GI tract (with specific emphasis on GI motility and gastric secretion), as well as diagnosis and treatment of functional digestive syndromes.
