Rita Vassena, Spain
earned a DVM and a PhD in Biotechnology applied to reproduction from the University of Milan, Italy. She has worked and trained in Canada and the United States, and has been a researcher at the National Stem Cell Bank in Barcelona, Spain.
Since 2011 she is the Scientific Director of the Eugin Group, where she directs the group international research, and supervises directly the group’s basic research unit.
Dr. Vassena is Associate Professor of translational medicine at the University of Barcelona; she is the co-director of the international master’s degree in human assisted reproduction techniques at Pompeu Fabra University – Barcelona School of BUsiness, and she is the president of the Eugin ethics committee for clinical research.Dr. Vassena is co-author of more than 110 scientific articles in high-impact international journals, has been the coordinator of the ESHRE stem cell special interest group, and has served for 4 years on the Executive Committee of the same society. She is currently serving in the executive committee of the Spanish Fertility Society.
