Rui Filipe Miguelote graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto, Portugal, in 2005, and completed his Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hospital da Senhora da Oliveira (Guimarães, Portugal) in 2013. His PhD thesis, titled “Prenatal ‘isolated’ mild ventriculomegaly: Looking for sonographic markers of prognosis and differential diagnosis,” was concluded in 2013 at the School of Medicine, University of Minho.
Since 2014, Rui Miguelote has been an Invited Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine (University of Minho, Braga) and works as a Research Project Coordinator at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (University of Minho, Braga) and at the Clinical Academic Center of Braga. His ongoing research projects focus on polycystic ovary syndrome and functional hypothalamic amenorrhea.
He is a Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and currently works in the ART Unit of Hospital da Senhora da Oliveira (Guimarães, Portugal).
He is the mentor and coordinator of the advanced course “Evaluation and Treatment of the Infertile Couple” at the School of Medicine (University of Minho), which has trained more than 380 Portuguese Obstetrics and Gynecology specialists and residents.
He is a board member of the Portuguese Reproductive Medicine Society (SPMR) and a former member of the board of the Portuguese Association of Prenatal Diagnosis (2017-2021).
